Sarah Ashlee's Word of the Day

Just because it's a newly discovered, fantastic word...one worth knowing.

Portentous (por-TEN-tus)
adjective

1. Foreboding; foreshadowing, especially foreshadowing ill; ominous.
2. Marvelous; prodigious; wonderful; as, a beast of portentous size.
3. Pompous.

Could you please use it in a sentence for us?

Haha - I am a fan of alliteration as well! Way to go! :)

Bobuster - Here you go:

"A piercing first novel...lyrical and portentous."

Figure out what review that's from and you get brownie points!! :-)
